If you’ve been loving Silktide’s Accessibility Toolbar, get ready for a big upgrade!
We’ve given it a makeover for our paid Silktide customers, so you can see more of your website’s insights wherever you browse.
A faster, easier way to access your website insights
1. Instant results for paid customers
- Immediate access to your data: If you’re a paying Silktide customer and you visit a website in your account, you’ll see your results right away. No extra clicks or waiting – just instant insights!
2. One-click analytics
- Analytics tab: Paid customers now see an “Analytics” tab in the toolbar. Open it to instantly check metrics for any page from your website.
3. A new look and location
- Toolbar on the right: The toolbar is now pinned to the right side of your screen. You’ll notice a small Silktide “S” tab that’s always visible.
- Always Available: The tab stays put as you navigate your site and the web, so it’s simple to open whenever you need it.
Why the change?
We believe the best product is the one you barely notice you’re using—because it just works with your usual workflow. That’s the heart of Silktide’s product philosophy. Whether you’re editing pages in your CMS or browsing your live site, the Accessibility Toolbar makes it easy to see issues and improvements at a glance.
Over the coming months, we’ll continue to add even more functionality into the toolbar. Our goal is to keep Silktide right where you need it, without making you jump back and forth between different tools or tabs.
What about free users?
If you’re using our free extension, you’ll notice the toolbar’s new position on the right and the ever-present Silktide “S” tab. Other than that, your experience stays mostly the same. You’ll still have access to the free accessibility checks you’ve come to rely on.
One more thing: New permission prompt
When you update the extension, your browser (Chrome, Edge, or whichever you use) may ask for a new permission. We know that sounds intimidating, but rest assured:
- We do not collect or send data about every site you visit.
- We only gather info when you specifically choose to test a page or if that page is already in your Silktide account.
- We take security and privacy seriously. This permission simply lets us display the instant results you love, plus any new features coming soon.
